Joel has worked in venues for over a decade. He was the Front of House and Bar Manager at Basement Theatre from 2018-2023. Prior to this, he was General manager of The Fringe Bar in Wellington.
He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to the Comedy Fest Team, first working bar at a festival managed venue in 2013. Since then, Joel has produced comedy shows, running Dank Comedy Show from 2013-2019 which won multiple Best Show awards at the Wellington Comedy Awards and served as a bridge between Wellington and Auckland comedians for many years. Joel also was a winner of the Auckland Spirit of the Festival award in 2023!
As Production Manager for The Trust, he brings a passion for the industry and an understanding of live performance in both Wellington and Auckland as well as a background in sound engineering.
