Clayton Carrick-Leslie

Clayton is a senior leader in the general insurance industry, having started his career as a corporate lawyer in private practice after graduating from the University of Canterbury with an LL.B / B.A in 2001. He has particular expertise in regulation, governance and risk management.

He is also an established comedian and voice artist, having been nominated for the Billy T Award in 2010, and running festival shows in Auckland, Wellington and Melbourne from 2008-2014. Clayts reignited his creative career in 2022 after a 7 year hiatus spent raising a young family in Melbourne, then moving back to his turangawaewae of Ōtautahi Christchurch in 2019 to be closer to family.

In his role on our Board, Clayton is passionate about connecting the activities of the Trust with the South Island where a burgeoning comedy scene continues to grow.
